The Deteriorating Patient

A whole day simulation based course. Learn how to recognise and respond to the acutely deteriorating patient.

Description

This course will cover extended assessment skills including identifying red flags through physical assessment, ECG’s, blood results and EWS scores.

Students will have a chance to practice clinical decision making in small scenario groups.

Escalation pathways will be explored and students will develop their communication skills during the course.

Students will also explore first steps in management and prevention of deterioration in the patient group.
